The cat is a carnivore. They are engineered for protein and have a drive for meat. Genesis Ultra Premium Life Stages Kitten and Cat food is designed to provide a large helping of chicken meat meal, fish meal, poultry liver, hydrolysed poultry and fresh meat meal. These are all highly digestible meat ingredients that address this drive the cat has for meat proteins.

Genesis is also supplemented with DL-methionine, an essential amino acid at the cross-roads of feline nutrition where it is found in high concentrations in hair and used as an intermediate agent for the production of taurine. Built into the product's formulation is a unique water transit agent which induces the cat to safely drink more water. This improved water intake induces increased urination, thus reducing the danger of stones in the kidney and urinary tract.

Hairballs are controlled by specific branched fibres, that in combination with the higher level of fat in the food, gently encourages the passage of hairballs through the intestinal tract and in turn promotes good health and hygiene. The formula also meets the cat's need for the unique amino sulfone Taurine.
